Liberty Bank Continues to Support National Teacher Prize

A five-year Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the Education Coalition and Liberty Bank with the purpose of supporting the National Teacher Prize. The agreement was signed by the Chairman of the Board of the Education Coalition, Irina Khantadze, and the CEO of Liberty Bank, Vasil Khodeli.

The memorandum envisages bilateral cooperation between the parties for the purpose of popularization of the “National Teacher Prize” and teaching as a profession.

The Bank will support the dissemination of information about the National Teacher Prize throughout the year, and will establish a special prize fund for the top ten teachers.

“We are pleased that the National Teacher Prize has become one of the most widely recognized and prestigious professional competitions that brings real changes. I think one of the most important preconditions for this is the fruitful and consistent cooperation of the public, state and private sector representatives involved in the award project.

“The award also sets a good example of intersectoral cooperation. In this context, I would like to express my special thanks to Liberty Bank for its support and loyalty. We believe that by partnering with them, we can offer many new and exciting novices to teachers. The memorandum signed between us for this purpose will take this partnership to a new stage,” Khantadze noted.

“Today, on behalf of Liberty, I have the honor to reaffirm our support for the global campaign directed towards the popularization of the teaching profession,” Khodeli noted. “This year, for the fifth time, we will participate in this campaign and in addition to information support, we will award the ten best teachers winning the National Teacher Prize.

“For Liberty Bank, it is very responsible to promote the professional development of teachers and the upbringing of the next generation, which in turn will contribute to the formation of an educated society and result in the advancement of our country.

“Last year was especially difficult for teachers, and to show respect for them, as part of the #Libertygulit social responsibility program, we made a decision to double the prize fund.”

Applications for the 2021 National Teacher Prize Competition started on March 1 and will continue through April 25 (www.tprize.ge).

Liberty Bank is one of the largest commercial banks in the country. The bank’s assets amount to GEL 3 billion, employs more than 4,500 employees, is represented by more than 360 service centers across the country, has 617 ATMs and serves more than 1.7 million customers.
